| Pregnant, or think you might be? Go Before You Show! Seeing a doctor within the first three months of pregnancy is one of the most important things a mother can do for her unborn baby. If you are pregnant, or think you might be, there are programs and services in Solano County that can help you get information about what to do if you are having a baby. You may also be eligible for health care programs that can pay for prenatal care and even the delivery of your baby. For more information, call 1-877-680-BABY. I may be pregnant. I don’t have insurance. What can I do? STEP 1: FIND A DOCTOR who takes Presumptive Eligibility (PE). Presumptive Eligibility (PE) is temporary pregnancy insurance. Call 1-877-680-BABY to help you find a PE doctor. STEP 2: SEE YOUR DOCTOR. Your PE doctor’s office will be able to sign you up for PE when you go for your visit. See your doctor soon as you think you might be pregnant. STEP 3: APPLY FOR MEDI-CAL. After your doctor visit, if you only have PE, apply for Medi-Cal right away so your benefits don’t expire. STEP 4: APPLY FOR WIC (Women Infants and Children). WIC is a nutrition program for pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding, new moms, infants and young children. For more information about how to find a PE or Medi-Cal provider, or about our programs, call toll free: 1-877-680-BABY or email us by clicking here. |
